Chalk Board

This assignment was quite different than most of my assignment that I have been given thus far. I was given the task to hand draw a chalk board that would be displayed at the Sandwich Station in Washakie Dining Center. For this project, I created a computer template to map out size and space proportions. (Comic Sans came in useful after all...) This illustrator template game me guidelines on creating the actual board as well as running my ideas and layouts past fellow office personal.

Returners Campaign

This digital sign layout is a final addition of the Returners Campaign that I have been working on this semester. I chose to use a slightly different color scheme rather that recycling my older promotional materials. I used photographs of the same students and text treatment as the previous items to connect to the previous materials.

Eggzamination Breakfast

This poster and digital sign were created to promote the Eggzamination Breakfast which is an annual even that Washakie Dining Center host the Sunday before finals week where students can take a break from studying and stock up on free testing supplies. I chose to make this campaign light hearted and humorous to balance out the tension, anxiety, and stress that often occurs with finals week.

Digital Signs

Throughout the semester, I often get quick assignments that I have an afternoon or one shift to start and complete. This digital sign that runs during finals week to inform students of specific silent hours in the dorms is an example of one of these assignments. I chose to make the sign simple, eye catching, and direct.

Returners Campaign Poster

One of the larger projects that I worked on this semester was the Returners Campaign. I was assigned the task of creating promotional materials such a a poster, postcards, door hangers, and table tents. I chose to use the UW branding standard on elements of the poster and the postcards. When designing the poster, I choose to use an appealing photo of students on campus near the dorms since the purpose of the campaign was to persuade students to renew their residence hall contrast for the following school year. On the poster the image is the main element that frames the text and branding. I choose to use words such as comfort, convenience, and peace of mind to illustrate the benefits of the dorms.

Culinary Competition Poster

I was assigned the task of creating a poster to promote the Culinary Competition at Washakie Dining Center. This poster assignment was assigned to me the day of the competition, there for I decided to place the date and the time within the Title of the poster. I decided to create this poster with a short and direct message for people quickly passing by. There is a background texture of vector spoons, knifes, and forks to add depth to the poster. I chose to add the Washakie logo and branding to frame the bottom of the poster since the even was being there.

Dining Dollars Logo

This semester, one of my tasks was to redesign the logo for Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars used to be called Plus Bucks. The concept behind Plus Bucks or Dining Dollars is it is a nonrefundable debit account placed on your UW WyoOne Card that adds additional flexibility, convenience and value to your campus dining experience. With a new name, but same concept, I designed the new logo to be a ridged and crisp logo much like that of a dollar bill. I sampled specific colors form a dollar bill for my conceptual color palette. The logo is made up of two different type faces that compliment each other.

International Dinner Poster

I was assigned the task of making a promotional poster for the International Dinner presented by Washakie Dining Center. The Dinner was held to celebrate different ethnic food form around the world. I chose to make the title of the dinner the dominant element with a contrasting color for the background. I decided to frame the bottom of the poster with a globe to represent the different foods from around the world.
